# CascadeFund

**Tagline:** An open-source ecosystem of maintainers and users.

CascadeFund is part of the **[Ara project](https://ara.foundation)**.

## What it is

CascadeFund connects **open-source maintainers** and **users** in a single ecosystem. The goal is **maintainer sustainability**, **less fragmented OSS**, and **wider adoption**—by treating independent projects as part of a coherent semantic web rather than isolated “alternatives.”

## Problem being addressed

Big-tech platforms ship coherent suites of products. Open-source often does not: marketing tends to be “open-source alternative,” UX can be uneven, tools may not interoperate well, and **sustainability for maintainers** remains hard.

## Direction

- Form a **semantic web of open-source** so projects and communities reinforce each other.
- Improve **polished, cohesive experiences** where it matters for users and contributors.
- Support **onboarding** of early projects and growth of the ecosystem.
